Carolyn Thomas, M.Ed., M.A.T.
is the Assistant Director at URI Career Services. Her primary responsibility is overview of the Career Counseling, Development and Assessment Program, Internal Operations and Training, and coordination of Recruitment activities with the Employer Services Manager. She completed her M.Ed. in counseling at Penn State, and M.A.T degree at the University of Louisville (KY), and an
undergraduate degree in biology at Ohio Wesleyan University. Carolyn has secondary teaching experience in both private and public school systems. Phone is 874-5250
Audrey Tessier, M.S.
is the Manager of Employer Services with responsibilities for managing and marketing all Recruitment programs, including job fairs, on-campus interviews, network events, job postings, and the RhodyNet program. She has eight years experience in Cooperative Education/Career Placement and has served as President of the New England Association of Cooperative Education and Field Experience (NEACEFE) and currently serves with military status as a Lighthouse Keeper and Mentor. Lisa Ferns, M.S.
is a career advisor, providing individual consultation and career assessment. Her responsibilities include securing internships for students from employers and collaborating with the Office of Internships. She supports students in various phases of the career development process, including career awareness and decision-making and provides in-classroom presentations
and workshops. She received a Masters of Science from the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in College Student Personnel. She has counseled students at both public and private institutions in a variety of student support positions
and has experience as a secondary teacher in Rhode Island and South Carolina.

Daniel Ustick, M.Ed., C.A.G.S.
is a career advisor, providing individual consultation and career assessment. He supports students in various phases of the career development process, including career awareness and decision-making and provides in-classroom presentations and workshops. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bates College, plus an M. Ed. and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling from Rhode Island College. Patrick J. Lennahan
is a career advisor providing individual consultation and career assessment. He supports students and alumni in various phases of the career development process, including career awareness and decision-making and provides in-classroom presentations and workshops. He has served as director of career services at three colleges and universities and is principal consultant with P.J. Lennahan & Associates, a career counseling firm. He earned a B.A. in Psychology and English Literature at Seton Hall University and participated in doctoral studies in Counseling and Student Personnel Administration at Cornell University. Patrick has 28 years of experience in the field of career services and is a Master Career Development Professional (MCDP) and a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF). He is also the Associate Editor of the Post-Secondary Department for Career Convergence, the web magazine of the National Career Development Association. Phone is 874-4784
Marie R. Geary, M. A.
Marie is an Alumni Career Advisor, providing career services to alumni who are a year or more beyond graduation from URI. Marie has twenty years of experience in the field of career development, and is enthusiastic about working with alumni at URI. A native Rhode Islander, Marie’s educational background includes a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, a Certificate in Technical Communication from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English from Salve Regina University. Marie has also had experience teaching in public elementary schools in Rhode Island. Phone is 874-9404.
Karen Rubano, M.S. 
Karen is an Alumni Career Advisor who has served as an organizational performance consultant, employee development coach and career advisor across various industries for 20 years. She has worked with individual employees in the areas of career planning, mentorship and employee skill development. Independent organizational project work has allowed Karen to work within many business functions including Sales, Marketing, Field Office Management, Operations and Back Office functions. Project management, facilitation, and training deliverables keep Karen partnered with middle to senior level management and expert employees which gives Karen the opportunity to be aware of and assist with workforce concerns and issues. Kate Chroust M.A.
Kate is a career advisor, providing individual consultation and career assessment. She supports students in various phases of the career development process, including career awareness and decision-making and provides in-classroom presentations and workshops.
Prior to joining the University of Rhode Island, Kate spent three years at Tufts University, The Fletcher School in Career Services as Recruitment Manager. She was responsible for organizing on and off-campus recruiting and career education events as well as conducting employer outreach. She also spent two years at Middlesex Community College as a Youth Program Manager. The program focused on career education to assist students in making better future decisions. In that position she was responsible for business development, teaching workshops, developing curriculum, securing internship and job opportunities. Phone is 874-9403
Susan Ogle. M.S.
is a volunteer career advisor focusing on mock interviewing and resume preparation. She has worked in a volunteer capacity since 2010 and has over 30 years of career management experience. Sue is presently President of OGLE Training & Consulting, Charlestown. Her past experience includes Assistant Director of Career Management/Placement at Yale School of Management, Managing Partner with Career/Life Alternatives, a career consulting firm in New Haven, Manager of Career Management at People’s United Bank, Bridgeport, CT, and Senior Consultant at Right Management Consultants in Hartford. Her initial career was a social worker for the City of Bridgeport, CT. Sue has an MS in Human Relations & Counseling and a BA in Sociology & Psychology.
Bobbi Koppel, Ph.D.
is the Director of Career Services, overseeing all facets of the office's services and its relationship to other University personnel and to those outside the university. She holds a doctorate in English from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois-Urbana. Prior to coming to Career Services in 1985 as Assistant Director, she was a faculty member in the College of Business Administration and in the College of Arts and Sciences. She has consulted for a variety of business and service organizations and is a former VISTA volunteer. Phone is 874-5177
Stephen Gagnon
is Career Service's technical support staff member. He provides support to students seeking help with RhodyNet, researches and manages the acquisition of computers, printers and other equipment, and manages the maintenance of the Career Resource Center. Troubleshooting and maintenance of the Career Services Web site keeps him quite busy! Phone is 874-5137
Joan Hernandez
provides initial information for all students, alumni, visitors and guests to the Career Services Offices. She schedules career counseling appointments, meetings and programs and organizes student employee work schedules. Joan is an active member of campus who has served on the Human Resources Committee, the Affirmative Action committee, and has organized charitable giving endeavors. Phone is 874-2311
Stephanie Grejtak, Graduate Intern
Stephanie is a second year graduate student getting her M.S. in College Student Personnel (CSP) at the University of Rhode Island. She is currently acting as a graduate intern in office of Career Services where she supports students in various phases of the career development process, including career awareness and decision-making and provides in-classroom presentations and workshops. Prior to joining the University of Rhode Island, she worked for NBC Sports and the PGA TOUR in business development.
