Definitely not. Employment opportunities posted on RhodyNet represent a variety of local, regional,
national and international organizations.
Are the jobs only for seniors?
No! Jobs on RhodyNet include part-time on and off campus jobs, internships, part-time, summer and full-time jobs for students from first year through graduate students as well as alumni.
Do I have to pay to use the system?
No! All current students or URI alumni have free access to RhodyNet.
Why do I have to register to use the system?
- Your registration ensures that other users will not be able to see your resume, which companies or employers you apply to or your interview status with that company. You manage how and when employers view your information. Another student can access your account only if you give them your username and password, which is NOT advisable!
- Your registration verifies that you are a URI student or alumni entitled to use this service, which is not available to students from other schools. It provides employers with verification that you are an appropriate candidate for their hiring needs.
- Your registration enables Career Services to contact you about upcoming jobs and events.
- Your registration provides you the ability to set up email notices so you will be the first to find out about jobs you are interested in.
- Your registration enables you to be the first to hear about and apply for new jobs and internships and upcoming events!
- Your registration enables you to receive updates and reminders from Career Services.
Can employers see my information?
Employers may access basic information from your personal profile (for example, your major, date
of graduation and email address) and your resume only if you change the default “allow employer
viewing” from “NO” to “YES” and only if you have a resume on file.
How does Career Services maintain the privacy of my information?
- Career Counselors and administrative staff at the University of Rhode Island are bound by national
standards for confidentiality of student information through URI’s membership in the National
Association of Colleges and Employers.
- Information in RhodyNet is the same as on record with the University of Rhode Island through your 9 digit student ID#. Other students cannot access your information unless you provide them access to your unique username and password which is not advisable.
- You may “deactivate” or even have your account deleted at any time by contacting Career Services.
