Resume Sample: Sports Media

Format

An effective resume for Sports Media majors should be a simple one-column format with no graphic elements (no textboxes, photos, icons, etc). The page is full, but not crowded, and sections are labeled clearly and organized logically (from most important to less important).

Content

An effective Sports Media resume should highlight relevant skills and experiences that have prepared you for the job(s) you want next. Incorporating a mix of academic coursework, previous internships/jobs, and campus involvement is a great way to demonstrate the breadth of your skills.

Each experience has 2-5 bullet points that describe the major accomplishments and contributions you made in that role – what were your main responsibilities, how did you positively impact the organization, and what skills did you develop as a result of this position? Make sure that you are emphasizing connections between this role and the position(s) you are now applying for.

If you have limited experience, check out the First & Second Year Student Sample Resume which highlights effective ways to put together a resume without any prior internships.
