Planning a Health Professions Career?

Pre-Health Career Pathways empowers students to prepare for and successfully pursue careers in the health professions. We specialize in working with our pre-medical, pre-physician assistant (PA) and pre-dental populations, but we encourage all students to explore their career options in health fields. We focus on competency-based advising, encouraging students and future applicants to engage in self reflection, rigorous pursuit of academic enrichment, and intentional exploration of on campus involvement and engagement.

Get Started

To begin your journey at URI as a pre-health student, join our Handshake newsletter, Pre-Health Connect!

The newsletter is our primary method of communicating information about pre-health professional opportunities, events, and resources—both on campus and off campus—to interested students. You must be subscribed to the newsletter to receive updates about the application process and relevant deadlines.

You’ll also be added to our Brightspace community page that has detailed information to explore.

There is no formal application or declaration process for becoming a pre-health student at URI. We consider joining the newsletter the unofficial way of declaring yourself on a pre-health professional track.
